Make A Difference
A relationship with an adult mentor can make a significant impact on the life of a student. Without caring mentors, positive youth development just doesn’t happen. First Tee believes role models give valuable guidance and support that provides the right foundation to make a difference.
Coaching
We currently have more than 3,700 coaches signed up with First Tee, including PGA and LPGA pros, as well as volunteers. However, coaching positions are not limited to experienced golfers. With First Tee coaching program, we provide the training you need. The main drive to be a coach with First Tee is to be supportive and encouraging for participants.
Developed with input from leading experts in the field of positive youth development, our program focuses on empowering participants through decision-making and exploring options. This helps foster positive relationships between coaches and young people, inspiring golfers of tomorrow to look to the future, set goals, and unlock their potential.
Coaches working through First Tee coaching program choose their own level of involvement. The program includes the following levels:
- Assistant Coach
- First Tee Coach-in-Training (Level I, II, III)
- First Tee Coach
- First Tee Master Coach

Volunteering
First Tee relies on more than coaches to provide transformative and empowering experiences for participants. Chapters need volunteers off the course to perform duties unrelated to golf in order to accomplish our mission.
These opportunities include:
- Fundraising/Events
- Operations/Administration
- Mentoring/Tutoring
- In-School Program Support
